Surgery and Wishes

My sister Kit's in bed, sleeping. Gale said it's cause she's had surgery, and has to recuperate. Gale also said that Samantha and Kirsten are going to have surgery, and maybe Ruthie, but she's not sure yet. Nor will she tell us what kind of surgery it is. Kit didn't seem sick, and neither do any of the others. I wish I was older, then people would tell me more stuff.

Is winter EVER going to end?

My sisters and I are so bored! We want to go out and play, but it's all muddy, so Gale won't let us. She says we have to wait until it dries up some. The only good news is that it's warmer than it has been for weeks. Another reason we want spring to come is because then we'll be able to meet our new sister, Rachel. She's from 1889, and Gale's busy writing her story. I don't know what it's about; Gale won't tell us. I guess she wants to surprise us. Personally, I don't care what her story is, I just want her to wake up and come out of her box to play.

Another bad thing: Gale told us this morning that she's going be gone all summer. She has a job, and she has to move to Ohio so she can do it. She'll be back at the end of October, but I'm really going to miss her. I know everyone else will, too. She said that her brother's going to be taking care of her guppy, so he's going to be coming in the room twice a day, to feed him. (the guppy's a boy, and his name is Nero.)

I have officially decided I hate the month of February.

New Clothes!

Doesn't everyone love getting new clothes? Me and my sisters do! Gale loves making us clothes, too, and today she finished making Kirsten a new dress. The poor girl only had one dress! Anyway, here's Kirsten in her new dress:


Doesn't she look so happy? Gale made the bonnet, too. She's made us all sorts of clothes. She made me my school uniform:

And she was very proud of herself, too. She should really make more clothes. Ginny only has one dress of her own, and so does Ruthie, for that matter. Although the two of them do share clothes with Kit, and she has the largest wardrobe of us all! No, that's not true, actually. Mia, Nicki and I have the most clothes between the three of us, but we do share, seeing as we're all modern, and my other sisters have to wear their time period's clothes. Most of the time, anyway.
