Gale's surprise was the purple dress! Mia's wearing it at the moment, and the camera batteries are dead, so I can't post pictures. :-(
Marty did go to Ohio. Gale's been back since the 9th, but none of us have been properly introduced, except Ginny. She and Marty are standing on top of the armoire that Gale uses as our "house". Gale said that she's going to change us all out of our Christmas dresses to day, so hopefully I'll get to meet Marty this afternoon. I don't even know that much about her, as I haven't heard much.
Gale's dad is moving to Cincinnati in about a week. She's not very happy about it, either, but as the insurance company he works for is going to close later this year, it can't be helped. She and her brothers are staying in Michigan, because her youngest brother, Mike, is a Junior in high school, and there's no point in moving him just before his Senior year. That, and he doesn't like changes, so moving him could make his already poor grades even worse.
Gale's re-applied to Cedar Point again. She can't find anything around here. Hopefully, she'll get a job. Being at Cedar Point will also put her closer to Adam, which she likes the prospect of.
I've got to go; Gale just called!

Happy Holidays!
Yay! It's almost Christmas time! Gale's had us all dressed up since Thanksgiving, though I'm worried about Samantha's dress. I don't want it to stain her...I heard Gale say that she's probably going to change us all into our PJ's before she leaves on the 23rd. She's going to spend Christmas and New Year's with her fiance in Ohio. Oh, and we're getting a new sister, too! Her name's Martha Riley Dumbledore, but everybody calls her Marty. She's older than all of us-she's 17! She's going to be a Teacher's Aide at Hogwarts, where Ginny goes to school. Marty's more than likely going to Ohio with Gale, as she usually takes one of us along with her when she visits Adam. She's only ever taken me, Mia, Rachel, and Ginny, though, because Sam, Nellie, Kirsten and Kit are all Historicals, and unreplaceable, to boot. (Firefox is saying that's not a word...I guess it isn't, or wasn't. It is now!) Nicki's never gone because her hair gets messed up easily, and Ruthie won't go anywhere without Kit. Gale likes taking us with her because Adam and all his friends think we're "creepy"! I don't think I'm creepy... :( Adam's mom likes to see the clothes Gale makes for us, so that's probably the biggest reason she takes us.
Speaking of making things, Gale says that I should tell all my readers that after she comes back in January, she's going to start making quilts with the old patches her mom bought and try to sell them on the message boards. (She says this is a pitiful attempt at product placement. ;) ) They're going to be hand-tied and bound, and she has yet to decide on pricing, but I'll let you know when she puts them up.
Gale says she has a surprise for us for Christmas. I hope it's that new purple dress in the AG catalog. It's so pretty! We won't know what it is until she comes back. I don't think...
Gale's story is coming along nicely. She's decided that she needs to write down everything-descriptions of places and things, the people's personalities, and other stuff like that. She's keeping the first chapters that she's already written, but she says that this is going to make the rest of the writing process easier. She's also decided that she's not going to put anymore of it up online, in case she wants to publish it one day. She doesn't want somebody "ripping off her idea" (her words). She said she's going to finish it, put a copy of it in an envelope, and mail it to herself. She hasn't said why, though, and I don't understand. If she wants to publish it, shouldn't she mail it to a publisher? Sometimes I don't understand my human.
Ok, I guess that's all I have to say for now. I'll post pictures of whatever Gale's surprise is after the new year.

My first post of 2010!
Yay! It's only taken me eight months, too! :)
OK, here's the deal- I'm writing a story, and I want some constructive criticism for it. This is just the beginning, mind you, and as all writing is re-writing, your comments are welcome.
As I looked around my room one last time, my heart jumped to my throat. 'I will not cry' I told myself, for the umpteenth time. 'I won't' But I just couldn't hold back the tears. I'd never been away from home for more than a couple days, and never without my parents. Now, I was leaving for the whole summer, 5 months away from my family and friends. ' This was your idea, you wanted this, this job will be a good thing for you.' I turned around and shut the door.
I've gone to Juniper Lake Amusement Park every summer with my family since I could walk. I love it there, and when I turned 18 and wanted a job somewhere other than the local fast-food place, I knew exactly where I wanted to go. I was so excited when I got the phone call, and I've been excited ever since, but this morning I woke up more nervous than I've ever been in my life. It finally hit me just what all this means. I'm going to be almost two hours away from my family, living in a dorm with people I don't know, working around strangers, cleaning up trash all summer. Am I really ready for this? Can I do it? I'm not really a people person, though I am a good actress, so I can cover up nervousness when I have to. Though, I do tend to talk too much when I'm nervous…
I should probably introduce myself, shouldn’t I? My name is Reagan Spangenburg. My parents have this obsession with the American Presidents, which explains my name. My brother’s name is Lincoln, and my sister is named Madison. I’m the youngest, the baby of the family. I’m also the first one to get a job away from home, if you don’t count the fact that Lincoln graduated from college this spring and has a job in Montana.
As I walked to my car I had to fight back the urge to run back to my mother’s arms. I got in my car, put in my favorite CD, and hit the road, waving at my family as I drove past the house. Soon, I was wrapped up in the music, singing along, and before I knew it, I was halfway there.
Like I said, comments are welcome. This is basically all I have at the moment, but I just started it, so there will be more.
Thanks,
Karen

Merry Christmas!
I know, I'm a bit late, but better late than never, right? That's what Gale says, anyway.
Speaking of Gale, she's healed from her accident, with only scars and bad memories to show for it. She says thank you to all of you that wished her well being, and is sorry that it's taken so long for me to say that. It has been a very long time since I wrote last, huh?
Not much has been happening here; Gale's got a boyfriend, and spends a lot of her time with him, but she still plays with us, so that's good.
We didn't get anything for Christmas, except for Kit; she got her yellow flower dress, and she's very happy. She likes yellow.
I really don't know what else to say; I'm not used to having writer's block, but I guess I have some now.
Well, I'm glad we're on Christmas vacation, but I'll be glad to get back to school. I get bored with nothing to do all day, and want to have something else to do than watch TV and read old books. I wish it would snow; then we could go outside and play, but all it did here on Christmas as rain, and while it's been flurrying all day, there's not enough to play in.
I guess I could talk about Lanie, too. Gale thinks she looks like Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter movies, or at least, in the drawings, and isn't sure she likes the doll. Me, I think she's pretty, and I love her dress. I can't wait to see what other clothes she has. Gale says that she's "related" to her because her last name is Holland, and Gale's grandma's maiden name was Holland. Gale thinks it's funny, but I don't get it. I understand the whole, "same name" thing, but don't get why Gale thinks it's funny. Grownups, humph.

Really, really bad news
I just found out today that Gale was in an accident Wednesday night! On her scooter! She didn't break anything, but she had to get stitches in her chin and her legs are scratched up really bad. She can't go back to work until tomorrow, and she's sore all over, so she doesn't know how good of a job she'll be able to do once she's there. I wish I was there with her, I could help her. From what I can find out, the front end of the scooter's totaled, and the key's stuck in the ignition. Gale's so upset, I just know she is. She loves that scooter.
Not much has been happening here in Michigan. Gale's brother is taking good care of Nero, and she's glad for that. The peony bush bloomed and was lovely, while it lasted. The rose bush is going crazy, and the flowers Gale's brother planted are growing nicely. Her dad redid the porch roof, and is pleased with the way it turned out.
I'm really worried about Gale; I don't like that she's hurt so far from home, but she's coming home on Sunday, so I can make sure she's really OK then.

Bad News, Good News
Well, Gale's leaving on Sunday. Her Grandma told her not to take any of us, so I'm not going to Cedar Point with her. Gale's getting ready to start packing, and tomorrow she needs to clean the fish tank. While I;m not going with her, I can still update my blog, when I have something to talk about. I can ask one of Gale's brother's to turn on the computer for me.
So that's the long and the short of things. My friends and I are sad that Gale's leaving us, but we understand that this is important to her, and that it's something that needs to be done. Gale's not always going to be able to play with us all the time.
OK, time for some happy news. The sun's out for the first time in almost a week. Yay! Maybe Gale will take us outside this afternoon.

Things To Do
I know, it's been almost three weeks since I last posted, but Gale had a cold, or an allergy attack, or something, and she was miserable. And when she doesn't feel well, we dolls don't do much.
Well, not much has been happening here, save for the attack of the allergies. Gale and her family are getting ready to leave for Disney World tomorrow morning. I'm writing this while she's off putting jeans in the washer. She had originally planned on taking Kit with her, but because she felt yucky, she didn't get the chance to make Kit new clothes or make a backpack to carry her in, so Kit can't go. None of us can. Darn. No, not darn; while she's gone, we can all PARTY! :)
OK, so maybe not, but it was a fun idea while it lasted.
Gale has trusted us dolls with watching her guppy, Nero, while they're gone. While feeding him would be fun, we don't have to do that; Gale got a vacation feeder, so all we have to do is watch Nero. And I'm going to help her clean out his tank this afternoon, too.
Wow, I really can't think of anything else to say....Unless you want to hear about my cliff diving experience. Alright, I can hear it now, "Tell us, please!" so I'll tell you. One night while Gale was sick, I was tired of just standing around, and I wanted to do something, so when Gale walked past the table I was standing on, I jumped off. :) It was dark out, and I think Gale thinks she knocked me down, but I could tell she really didn't feel good because she just left me there! I sat on the floor until the next morning, when she came in the room and picked me up.
Well, that was my cliff diving experience. I had fun, even if I did have to sit on the floor for 3 hours afterwards.
