Merry Christmas!

I know, I'm a bit late, but better late than never, right? That's what Gale says, anyway.

Speaking of Gale, she's healed from her accident, with only scars and bad memories to show for it. She says thank you to all of you that wished her well being, and is sorry that it's taken so long for me to say that. It has been a very long time since I wrote last, huh?

Not much has been happening here; Gale's got a boyfriend, and spends a lot of her time with him, but she still plays with us, so that's good.

We didn't get anything for Christmas, except for Kit; she got her yellow flower dress, and she's very happy. She likes yellow.

I really don't know what else to say; I'm not used to having writer's block, but I guess I have some now.

Well, I'm glad we're on Christmas vacation, but I'll be glad to get back to school. I get bored with nothing to do all day, and want to have something else to do than watch TV and read old books. I wish it would snow; then we could go outside and play, but all it did here on Christmas as rain, and while it's been flurrying all day, there's not enough to play in.

I guess I could talk about Lanie, too. Gale thinks she looks like Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter movies, or at least, in the drawings, and isn't sure she likes the doll. Me, I think she's pretty, and I love her dress. I can't wait to see what other clothes she has. Gale says that she's "related" to her because her last name is Holland, and Gale's grandma's maiden name was Holland. Gale thinks it's funny, but I don't get it. I understand the whole, "same name" thing, but don't get why Gale thinks it's funny. Grownups, humph.

Really, really bad news

I just found out today that Gale was in an accident Wednesday night! On her scooter! She didn't break anything, but she had to get stitches in her chin and her legs are scratched up really bad. She can't go back to work until tomorrow, and she's sore all over, so she doesn't know how good of a job she'll be able to do once she's there. I wish I was there with her, I could help her. From what I can find out, the front end of the scooter's totaled, and the key's stuck in the ignition. Gale's so upset, I just know she is. She loves that scooter.

Not much has been happening here in Michigan. Gale's brother is taking good care of Nero, and she's glad for that. The peony bush bloomed and was lovely, while it lasted. The rose bush is going crazy, and the flowers Gale's brother planted are growing nicely. Her dad redid the porch roof, and is pleased with the way it turned out.

I'm really worried about Gale; I don't like that she's hurt so far from home, but she's coming home on Sunday, so I can make sure she's really OK then.

Bad News, Good News

Well, Gale's leaving on Sunday. Her Grandma told her not to take any of us, so I'm not going to Cedar Point with her. Gale's getting ready to start packing, and tomorrow she needs to clean the fish tank. While I;m not going with her, I can still update my blog, when I have something to talk about. I can ask one of Gale's brother's to turn on the computer for me.

So that's the long and the short of things. My friends and I are sad that Gale's leaving us, but we understand that this is important to her, and that it's something that needs to be done. Gale's not always going to be able to play with us all the time.

OK, time for some happy news. The sun's out for the first time in almost a week. Yay! Maybe Gale will take us outside this afternoon.

Things To Do

I know, it's been almost three weeks since I last posted, but Gale had a cold, or an allergy attack, or something, and she was miserable. And when she doesn't feel well, we dolls don't do much.

Well, not much has been happening here, save for the attack of the allergies. Gale and her family are getting ready to leave for Disney World tomorrow morning. I'm writing this while she's off putting jeans in the washer. She had originally planned on taking Kit with her, but because she felt yucky, she didn't get the chance to make Kit new clothes or make a backpack to carry her in, so Kit can't go. None of us can. Darn. No, not darn; while she's gone, we can all PARTY! :)

OK, so maybe not, but it was a fun idea while it lasted.

Gale has trusted us dolls with watching her guppy, Nero, while they're gone. While feeding him would be fun, we don't have to do that; Gale got a vacation feeder, so all we have to do is watch Nero. And I'm going to help her clean out his tank this afternoon, too.

Wow, I really can't think of anything else to say....Unless you want to hear about my cliff diving experience. Alright, I can hear it now, "Tell us, please!" so I'll tell you. One night while Gale was sick, I was tired of just standing around, and I wanted to do something, so when Gale walked past the table I was standing on, I jumped off. :) It was dark out, and I think Gale thinks she knocked me down, but I could tell she really didn't feel good because she just left me there! I sat on the floor until the next morning, when she came in the room and picked me up.

Well, that was my cliff diving experience. I had fun, even if I did have to sit on the floor for 3 hours afterwards.

Books

I was bored this morning, so Gale suggested I read a book, and handed me called Whispers Down the Lane, by Beverly Lewis. It's part of a series called SummerHill Secrets. Needless to say, I'm hooked, bookworm that I am. I've already finished the first one, and am reading the second one, Secret in the Willows. The series is about this girl named Merry Hanson, and she lives in Pennsylvania Amish country, but she's not Amish. One of her best friends is, though. In the first one, Merry is trying to help her friend from school, Lissa, who has run away from home, though I'm not going to tell you why. if you want to know, you can read the book! :)

In the second one, Merry's Amish neighbor's barn is torched, and she and Rachel, her Amish friend, are trying to figure out whodunit. Again, I'm not going into any more detail.

Ginny told me yesterday that she's reading her school books. I think that's just boring. Don't get me wrong; I love to read, and I like school, but reading your school books for fun? Come on! I know she's going away in the fall, but it's only March; she doesn't need to have read all her school books before she leaves. I'm trying to get her to read Secret Garden, but she's not interested. Oh, well. Unless and until she starts walking around the house in her school robes, I'm not going to worry about her.

We're having spring picture day this week. (Unless it's raining.) I hate picture day, but Gale seems to think it's important. (Come on rain!)

Gale's finally got the permit for her scooter, (yay!) and once she gets the endorsement on her licence, (so she can ride it on the open road) she's promised to take me for a ride. (yay! again) Probably to make up for the fact that's she's not taking me to Ohio with her. Oh, no! I don't have a helmet! And that's something she can't just make for me, it has to certified or something. Grrr.....

My new sweater!

OK, so it's actually a vest, but it's neat, nonetheless. Gale said it's my birthday present, but she couldn't wait to give it to me. She was trying to make a whole sweater, sleeves and all, but she couldn't figure out how to make sleeves, and she was doing it without a pattern. She doesn't like patterns; she finds it hard to decipher them, and she doesn't have anybody to help her, so she just wings it. I don't care whether it has sleeves or not; I love it anyway! And, it's my favorite color, so that makes it even better!

I heard Gale talking to Rachel last night; I think that she's really considering taking Rachel with her to Ohio. She was talking about Rachel's eyes. I talked to her (Rachel) yesterday, and she said she has a bum eye. (my words) I heard Gale say something about a trip to Chicago, so I'm assuming she's going to take Rachel to Chicago to be fixed. That's a good thing; Rachel can't go through life not being able to see right out of one eye.

My List

I've been reading other blogs, and some of them have "lists" of things about the blogger, so I'm going to do one, too.

Ten Things About Me:

1) I have nine friends. (but Gale just calls us all sisters, and I have picked up the habit)

2) My father owns an insurance company and we're rich. (But I don't act like it)

3) I go to private school. (And am the only one of my friends that does)

4) I like old movies, (Westerns and musicals, especially.) old music, (stuff from the '60's and '70 s) and old books (Sherlock Holmes, Anne of Green Gables).

5) When I grow up, I want to be a children's author.

6) I like math, but not as much as I like history.

7) I like reading more than anything else in the world.

8) My favorite type of food is Chinese, while my favorite food item is pizza. (with pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms)

9) Anything that keeps my hands busy, I enjoy. Building with Lego's, sewing, writing, building/making things in general, stuff like that.

10) My favorite color is green, but not green-green, like grass, but light pastel green, like the cover of this notebook Gale has.

OK, there's my list. That was fun!
